Dr Lucy Thomas
Dr Lucy Thomas MPharm MBChB MRCP UK (Dermatology) qualified from the University of Birmingham with a first-class honours medical degree before securing competitive training posts at several central London teaching hospitals.
Dr Lucy Thomas works as an NHS Consultant Dermatologist at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital where she carries out general and complex medical dermatology clinics, skin surgery and teledermatology. Particular areas of interest include eczema, psoriasis, acne, rosacea, hidradenitis and skin cancer, as well as general mole checks. Dual qualified as a Pharmacist, Dr Lucy originally graduated from the University of Wales with first-class honours and finished top of her year. She completed a Masters research degree which involved the design, synthesis and evaluation of novel anti-cancer drugs and she was awarded the prestigious Welsh Development Agency Healthcare and Technology prize. She has supervised an Imperial College Medical student BSc research project and been Co-Principle investigator for a Phase IV clinical trial.
Dr Lucy has written articles for leading Dermatology journals, has presented at national and international scientific meetings and runs an annual course for Dermatology trainees which is co-badged by the British Association of Dermatologists. She has received numerous awards from the Royal Society of Medicine, and before becoming a Consultant Dermatologist, she was one of the top three European Dermatology trainees at Euroderm Excellence.
